Each year, millions of high school seniors look forward to attending prom.  Unfortunately, for many, attending prom is not a reality.  The soaring cost of tickets, formal wear, transportation and other factors make it difficult for those who are in challenging financial situations to participate in this rite of passage. 

For the past 7 years, the Women of Faith Ministry at Body of Christ Church has been collecting new or gently worn dresses, shoes, accessories, gift cards and gift certificates for services to give away at an annual event.  On the day of the event, young women from all over the region come to shop for a formal dress free of charge.  In addition to shopping for a dress, the participants are treated to a fashion show, door prizes, make-up demos and more!  The joy and tears on the faces of the young women, their parents, guests and the volunteers is priceless.  Since the first event in 2013, our volunteers have assisted over 400 young women with their prom needs.
